A buddy of mine had an older Kawi a few years ago & had a no-fan issue with
it. Turned out, a small-ish piece of gravel got kicked up & had lodged
itself between the blades & the fins of the radiator. Cleaned that out &
she worked like a champ. Check for free movement on yours, then move on.

Tony, don't know about the water cooled bikes or how the circuits are wired
on your fan, but my immediate thought is that the fan is seized up/seizing
up and blew the fuse. You just bypassed the fuse when you went direct to the
battery. Check the fuse.
See how easily the fan turns when you flick it. I would figure it spins
almost freely. If not, see if the bearings can be lubed in some way. If not,
recon a new fan is in the crystal ball.
