[Ducati] Brake Problems

I'd say it's a master cylinder problem. The system is designed to bleed 
excess pressure back into the reservoir every time you let off on the 
brakes. If you have the "reach adjuster screw" (it's not really) screwed in 
too far the bleed hole never opens up and you can have the problem you 
mention. Or it could be gunk in the master cylinder partially blocking the 
bleed hole ... I've even seen it when somebody "covers" the brake too 
tightly, not allowing the lever to come back to full open between uses.
