[Ducati] Identity crisis

If you buy a new Husqvarna, is it a Husky or a BMW? Perhaps if BMW designed
the motor, frame, everything, it might properly be called a BMW, but that is
not the case at present, so its still a Husky.
Same for Elefant, Paso and so forth. There were real Cagiva's that weren't
Ducati at all, two stroke MXer types, but they did not use the Ducati two
stroke motors nor anything else from Ducati.
Just to show you what is in a name, Ducati themselves still refer to two
valve rubber band motors as Pantahs, but on Pantaheads list, we don't
consider them them to be because the Dual Spark for instance seems an
evolution down the line. On Pantaheads, we happily consider Elefants as part
of our bikes, and in fact there was a great discussion of Elefants back when
World's Fastest Indian came out, because they used Elefant motors and frames
for the speedliner that was enclosed.
Two Ducs, therefore is your answer, but why stop now, buy some more!
