[Ducati] Ah...the old Corvair!

My brother and I had a patch job 62/61 with the std 98 horse engine. Mom's was an automatic '62 (102 hp) and Dad's was a '61 with the 98 hp engine. All Monzas. We put the shorter steering links and some other stuff, can't even remember any more on our car..really improved the steering.

Later, I had a '65 Monza convertible with the 4 single barrels, maroon body/white top (yep, I'm a Texas Aggie!). Nice handler good power, used to race it up the backside of a mountain outside of Denver against a 442 Cutlass and a 375 fi Corvette. In the curves it held it's own. Lost it in a flash flood in the middle of the Mojave Desert.

Then I bought another '65 w/ 4 1 barrels and rebuilt the engine in the barracks! Passed inspections and no one was the wiser. Put an old wire spool end on it then threw an old bed spread over it, put an old wine bottle on it with a flower in it. Eventually sold it for a '67 Goat. Wish I had them all back! <LOL>

  Reminiscing in my dotage...Hopper
