The $40K bike would be the expected 1098R, no surprise there.   Ducati
must have a homologation special to maximize their opportunity under the
new World Superbike rules.  Looking at the new rules for twins they will
be allowed 1200 cc displacement and must race with stock crankshaft and
con rods so I would assume that the "R" will take advantage of the
displacement allowance and provide some very high spec engine
internals... perhaps titanium con rods?

I still think we'll also see a redesigned new Monster.
