My thoughts are with Maxine and you. Let us know if there is anything we can do. Make sure you take care of yourself as well. Maxine needs you strong and healthy. 
 
My partner also insists on riding her bicycle everywhere (in Oakland, CA). While I have great faith in Myriam's abilities and sensibilities as a bicyclist, I know how incredibly fragile our grasp on safety is, whether on motorcycles or bicycles. On the up side, we get to have merry reunions everytime one of us gets home from their 2 wheeled adventure. The difference here is, as passionate as Myriam is about bicycles, she refuses to get on the back of my motorcyle.... Smart woman.
 
We have lit a candle for Maxine, and hope for a speedy and complete recovery.
