You can find an increase in performance by bolting the FCR's onto the stock 
intakes. But, you can find a bigger increase by bolting them up to Malossi 
short stacks and getting rid of the airbox, "plumbing" and fuel pump. I did 
that with my '97 SS/SP (in addition to 944 kit, HC pistons, lightened 
flywheel, etc.) and got reliable service and much more power. The bike was 
beastly for an SS of that vintage.
