Hey, I am a fan of MotoGP, a big fan of Stoner, and yet an even bigger fan
of Ducati.
As for it being a 'level playing field', I vehemently disagree. Perhaps
most riders ARE healthy, but that alone does not make a 'level playing
field'. The rules of MotoGP do not allow for a 'level playing field'. Ask
the riders themselves. But then, this is a topic for a different thread
entirely.

Say what you want about Casey Stoner and his place in history but this
season has no "asterisk" situation. Everybody is racing, everybody is
healthy,
it's a level playing field and here is the bottom line:
In his second year in MotoGP, Casey Stoner is poised to join two all time
legends in a fairly epic way.
If he wins his 11th race of the year at Valencia, next week, he ties
Giacomo
Agostini and Valentino Rossi on the list of season victories. Only Mick
Doohan has more with 12.
It took Doohan for nine seasons to do it. It took Rossi three seasons to win
11 races in 2002. Agostini, the all-time great, still unpassed in
accomplishing eight world championships, had 11 wins in 1972, his 8th year
competing in
GP.
Not that anybody is arguing but statistically, it really looks like the
kid's got the goods.
