[Ducati] 900SS - Wits End

An SS idling high and failing to return to normal idle from higher revs
is generally a sign of a vacuum leak. Check for small cracks in the
rubber boots between the carbs and the heads, and check for air entering
between the carbs and the boots. Last time mine had this characteristic
the tried-and-true "spray carb cleaner around the manifolds and see if
the idle changes" trick didn't work, but a removal, cleaning, and
reseating of the carbs did.

Hope this helps,

I think, and I know the experts will correct me if I'm wrong, there is a

vacuum bladder at the top of the carb. If this has a slight hole, cut
etc. I
think the carb slide will remain in the up position and you will
experience
the rpm's remaining high.
