Dude , are you sure the squish is the same for both cylinders. Volumetric effeciency will have a direct affect on how those CV carbs work. Check for equal compression and take a look at your cam timing again. If one cylinder had better volummetric effeciency than the other you will see a difference in the amount and timing of the lift you see on the needle/slide assymblies. In simple terms , one will have more vacume influence on the diaphragm of the CV carb than the other.
