[Ducati] Help! Hard starting 999

I have had the same problem when the temp is especially cooler like 
50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. I found some info  on a message board 
where the fellow said he doesn't use the throttle lock. He starts it 
with throttle on idle as it fires up he apply's the throttle lock on 
then. I also have the same bike as yourself . I tried this technique 
and my bike seems to start fine now.
