  I have owned two 748s, my first was the limited edition 97 silver one and now 
  a 2000  748S that I punched out to an 853. The bikes are great, fast enough 
  for canyon carving and great track bikes.I have had many other sport bikes ride 
  with me including GSXRs and the duc always does well because of its cornering 
  abilities. The curbside appeal of a Ducati will always outweigh a Triumph.
   
  To the guy thinking about a 2001 748, throw your leg over it and see how it 
  feels. Only you will know, the rest of us who ride ducs already know :-)
