[Ducati] 748 Opinions?

Always an interesting perspective usually held by those  who simply do not know. My experience has been that someone on a 900SS can usually get through turns about as quickly as a SBK and that it does not take alot to catch up down the straights, esp for guys with built up 900SS with head work, carbs etc, meaning a 90-100hp 900SS is a damn lot of fun to ride and SBKs dont have as much on em as they would like to think. Spoken by a guy who has owned both and has routinely riden with bud who shows up in my rearview mirror far quicker than he should. And I am not on a regular SBK either, whether older 125 hp 955SP or newer worked on 143 hp 996R. Bottom line is it is not abig deal, and alot of it depends on the riders skills and who should be making such comparisons on the street anyway. Even trackdays are not a great indicator, I have done so many I cannot remember them all, sometimes I would go purposely slow just to try 6 different lines through a turn,
 and cared not how fast I went down straights, I would let folks pass to get the line cleared out.  Until some wickedly fast guy took my line on a 125GP bike. :) Then of course I had to shadow him. Big stoinking SBK don't mean crap getting through turns when the fastest thing around a road course can be no more  than 250cc.

You HAVE to be kidding...  I guess all of us 900 owners must get run over
quite often since we are on such slow machines.

these days a more than 11 second 1/4 mile bike is too slow to ride in on
public roads........
