[Ducati] 748 Opinions?

I agree.? My ''97 is plenty fast for the street.? If your friend is really worried about dragging teenage squids (or racing), regear it, or buy a liter bike. I highly recommend an aftermarket exhaust though so you get more ducati sound out of it.? I just took my new racer cert last month on mine, which they do on the Kart track out here. I beat two newer guys on a GXSR 750 and a CRB1000RR. There wasn't enough straights for them to make up for not knowing how to go fast through through a corner.? Of course, if your friend wants to use it for every day riding on the street, the riding position stinks and the clutch will make your hand scream for mercy if you're stuck in stop and go traffic. :-)
My $.02.
Joe

I like my '98. It's my first bike - I've had it for two seasons now, so I'm
not really comparing it to anything else through experience. It's fast
enough for me to have fun, handles way better than what I know how to use,
but it's not so much power I get myself in trouble. The maintenance is the
only downside I've seen - I had to replate all the opening rockers this past
winter, but now I should be good for a long time on those.?
