[Ducati] i was wrong........Stoner Rumour files

Not quite true, only Hayden is the exception. Some time ago, Hayden spent
some time talking with Stoner and encouraging him, there was quite a nice
writeup in Cycle News about it. Hayden has been quite nice to Stoner, now
that he isn't such a dangerous crasher :-)   Also, Stoner was congratulated
by Hayden before anyone else did when he won the championship. The rest of
the lot, including Vermin and all have not been so encouraging.

And it is natural that the other riders have less than full respect for
Stoner, it is pretty bloody obvious that the Ducati is worlds better than
the next best bike. So it is hard to respect someone who beats you by making
easy passes down the straights, as anybody who races knows. It is when bikes
are pretty equal and one person dominates, that respect is forthcoming.
Exactly the case for Rossi of course, but Stoner is going to need more than
just one season on a clearly superior package to get respect. If Stoner
dominates over Melandri on the same package next year, that would certainly
be a big step in the full respect division.

The best part is that Stoner certainly seems to fit well with the package
and has been absolutely brilliant. If he can maintain that, and he and
Melandri together just dominate the rest, how sweet that will be! But right
now, I am just savouring the holy shite outta the braggin rights of Ducati,
World Champion!
