Thats the way Kevin,
Sure Ducati is just a cool bike any way you look at it, but they are also
quite capable. While I never hauled skiis on a bike, my Cagiva Elefant was
outfitted with one of those heavy wire frame backets for 6 gallon jugs, and
while I was working in Las Cruces but living in a little town called Organ,
I would commute nearly 25 miles each way on a dirt road at the base of the
Organ mountains and come out by "A" mountain, near the NM State U where I
worked. Then on the way home, go back via same route except stop at the feed
store in Organ every other day and pick up a bale of hay and sack of grain
for my horse. They would put the grain in the basket, then while I steadied
the bike, they put the hay on top of the basket. I tried two bales a few
times, but sometimes they would unbalance and come off, so it was easier to
just do one at a time. My 05 Strada, the one that lives with Aaron now, had
40k miles in two years from commuting to Austin from San Antonio when I was
working up there once or twice a week. It is really quite amazing what you
can carry on a bike if you are motivated.

will never be in the Concours (and because I'm too damn lazy and cheap to
restore it - and too busy crashing it). I ride my bikes every chance I get,
for most everything I do, although it's been a couple of years since the
Duck had 100 lbs of manure lashed to the pillion seat (organic, of course),
and I haven't carried lumber or skis since I sold the VF750. snip
