[Ducati] exhaust energy, turbos and diesels

Turbos on aircraft engines have been around for decades. When I schooled for my A&P I was astounded to find turbos on engines made in the early 50s. Aircraft engineers have used turbos, intercoolers and water injection for a long time. Of course were comparing apples to oranges when comparing aircraft, marine and road vehicle usage of the internal combustion engine.
Heres another couple of questions for the minions, What actually occurs to the intake mixture at ignition ? And , What are the five events of the 4 cycle engine?
Oh one more, What actually makes the noise coming out of the exhuast ?
Duc content: These things do occure on my Duc.
