Long ways from an expert here, but on the battery, check it with a
voltmeter, it should read about 13.5 or more volts. If less, especially if
less than 12 volts, a bad battery. You can also get the battery tested at
some places, perhaps autozone or some such. My dim old memory thinks of
hydrometer gages that service stations had before they turned into stores
selling gas. But a voltmeter will give you the easiest heads up on the
battery if flagrantly bad.
