[Ducati] Black, but not bleak future awaits me

Well I continue to recover, and in most ways feel better. However I have not
been able to do much with my left arm, which took a lot of the damage. My
shoulder Doc doesn't want me to exercise with physical therapy yet, because
he wants the bones to set a bit first. I do feel confident however that it
will regain full function.
So, the future appears to be black, as black as a black Hypermotard 1100 S
can be, from the Black coating on the front forks to the black painted frame
and gas tank. No, not just a Hypermotard 1100, its gotta be the "S" model!
The S model shaves 5 pounds off the regular driy weight, with lighter
wheels. Just to take the theme more along the NCR path however, I have
finished negotiotions with my dealer and so will also be getting the
following upgrades. The exhaust will be the two into one full racing exhaust
option, saving 7 kg of weight, and of course the cams to go with it. A very
minor weight saving will be effected using the upgraded belt pulleys for the
cam belts, and an additional .22kg saving by going with the racing clutch,
and of course that is rotating weight saving, for a little flywheel effect.
All together the dry weight should drop to about 375 pounds with a 10 %
power increase. Ok, its not the 300 lbs and 132 hp of the NCR Leggera, but
then it is well less than half the money too. For the other half of the
money, I will get by with less power and more weight.
Bike is on order, expected in December. So my goal is to be hitting the
physical therapy by next week and be ready to ride when the bike comes in.
Even got a new helmet, since the previous one was used during my 'event'.
It is always nice to have something to look forward to when doing physical
therapy, I am quite happy with my goal :-)
After all, this might be the last new bike I ever buy, might as well get it
just the way I want it, light and powerful.
