[Ducati] getting

Back in 1985, we raced a 6 hour MRA/WERA endurance race at Pueblo, CO on my
Hailwood Replica, and I remember in the race I kept getting passed by
Kocinski in the hairpin that is just before the front straight. He is the
only guy that ever passed me there, and did it like 5 times or so over the
course of the race. He was teamed up with Dave Aldana and they won the
overall race over Team Hammer, but we were very happy getting 3rd in
heavyweight production against all the liter bikes. John was something like
16 years old at the time, and he and Dave were on a 750gsxr framed 1100cc
motored bike that flat hauled butt, yet he was still flying in the tight
stuff. That was back in the old MRA days of Colorado, when Steamboat Springs
races were still street races, curbs and all plus they had the lovely Woody
Creek raceway by Aspen, nice track, except for all the 'safety boulders'
scattered around just off the racing line. That year the MRA had 3 of the 6
hour races, but the last one (September) at Pueblo was the most interesting,
because it started snowing an hour or so into the race. Pretty easy to tell
where the line was, it was the black stuff.....
