Hi Paul,
There is a local Ducati dealer (http://www.kc-international.com/)
located on I-10 about 20 miles north of downtown. It's a nice
facility; he's got some 1098s, etc. also Aprilia, MV and Guzzi. Not a
big accessory department; some Dainese stuff, Ducati books and models,
etc.
Don't know if you'll be mobile, but there is an excellent little
motorcycle museum out in the Hill Country called the Lone Star
Motorcycle museum (http://lonestarmotorcyclemuseum.com/). It's a fur
piece from San Antonio (about 86 miles) but has some really nice stuff
on display. If you're thinking about going, call first to check hours
((830) 966-6103).
Also, there is a big bike gathering at a beer joint called Specht's
store (http://www.spechts.com/) on Wednesday nights. Surprisingly,
it's NOT mostly Harleys, it's mostly sport bikes and unless there's
recently been a mishap, once the sun sets, there's usually some stunt
riding taking place. It's fun and casual. Usually some Ducatis there
(including our own Peter Bonner on occasion).
That's all I can think of for now. Let me know if you have something
particular in mind.
