Hi Guerin:

The good news is, most club races are won are lost due to rider ability
rather than equipment.

The bad news is, you're going to be behind the 8-ball on equipment. ;-)

Your bike is legal for BOT F2, and can bump up to race BOT F1 and Sound of
Thunder for additional track time. In BOT F2, you'll be racing against a
lot of guys that bump up from BOT F3, a lot of whom are riding
Supersport-spec SV650s. But you'll also be racing against some true F2
bikes, such as Superbike-spec SVs, Buells, Moto Guzzis, and some other
air-cooled Ducatis. Basically, in F2 you can run a 750cc liquid-cooled OHC
twin, a 1000cc air-cooled OHC twin, or a 1250cc air-cooled push-rod twin.
If I recall, Robbie Nigl won the BOT F2 National Championship last year on a
Bruce Meyer's built TT750. Of course, it was a very trick bike and Robbie
is a very good rider.

Don't worry if you're bike is basically stock -- there's always somebody to
race with, and I think you'll find AHRMA is a pretty cool group of folks to
race with. It's hard not to have fun. Miller's an awesome track and Sandia
is a very cool event.

The AHRMA rulebook is available online at www.ahrma.org

Give me a shout if you have any other questions. I'm also a trustee with
AHRMA and sit on two of the rules committees.
