[Ducati] bike in storage

hello there,
 
for the past year i was japan for my company's project...my precious 996S
has been in a storage unit.  i had changed the oil and the valves adjusted a
month before i stored my bike.  would it be good to have my machanic check
the bike over and changed the fuilds before firing it up?  don't know if my
battery would have enough power either...the instrument panel lights turns
on.
 
also my steering damper feels really loose...i think the seal my have a
leak?  would the use of it restore the pressure?
