[Ducati] 999 Exhaust

Last rant I swear.....
If you install this kit yourself and use a new ECM......you need to goto
your dealer anyway to get the TPS recalibrated. I found the hard way, put
the kit on...and 10min into the ride at a stop light...and died... idle,
died........and just a hint of backfiring every once in a while
So, wait till you have a service interval or just pony up the cash for a
tech to plug in the ducati tool and recal the TPS

Hey Roger,
I have an '06 999 BIP and got this kit:
http://www.ducati.com/shop/product.jsp?_DARGS=/shop/search/droplets/ddd_boxproduct.jsp_A&_DAV=/shop/search/advsearch.jsp&catid=cat1030149&prodid=prod850158&srch=true
It's 57mm, I choose it because it was a new kit offered when I purchased my
bike, and it was suggested for my bike (the '05 '06 999 BIP have the "R"
cams as previous generation 999s)
I also got a nice discount through my dealer :O)
I would do a model search on Ducati.com, goto shop, then accessories, then
choose your model and year. That should start you off. As far as 50 vs 54
mm?? I would assume that distinction would be from different cams, but if
it's spec'd for your year and model 999, the remapped fuel controller will
make use of whatever system you choose. Different maps for different bikes
and different kits, etc....
So I would say it comes down to price...whichever kit fits your budget and
makes you smile....you're golden. As far as "streetability" with the
different kits....the fueling maps will be correct to keep your bike as
"streetable" as it was stock....as far as idling, etc....
You can even google for your bike/year/model and find some dyno runs with
your bike and then the kit your looking to buy.....that will give you the
complete story on the A/F ratio throughout the rev range as mapped by the
new ECM that comes with those kits.
Hope that helped,
Alex

I have a 2004 999 and want to install a full exhaust system. Any input on
the 50mm versus 54mm Termignoni systems? Any other systems? I would
appreciate any pros and cons anyone has. The bike is otherwise stock and I
do not plan on any other motor modifications, it is primarily for street
use.
Thanks
Roger Gerchas
