Ron,

The Big Bear Loop sounds great.

I remember the area from skiing there in the 1965-68 era. I was 9-12 then.

My parents wanted to get rid of me I guess, so they signed me up to a ski club. Every other weekend in the winter we took a bus from the valley up to the Big Bear area, beautiful scenery. I also recall seeing lots of dragsters on trailers on their way to Pamona Raceway from my perch on the bus.

Mapquest says its 2,681 mi. from here so I probably can't make it by 9:30 though.

Next year, someone will have to let me have a go on their desmosedeci and I'll fly out!

  Have fun.
  Courtney

I have been doing the Big Bear Loop ride for 4 years now and We are doing it
again on the 16th of june. This ride starts in Redlands in the parking lot
of Chipotles. It is right off of the 10 freeway just east of the 10 , 215
interchange. Take the orange street offramp and Chipotles is on your right
at the first light you come to. Meet up at 9AM and departure around 9:30 or
when everyone shows up. We will go through Mentone to Highway 38 and will
stop in Angeles Oaks for breakfast before continuing to Big Bear. We will
stop along the way for some pictures , a smoke or to let everyone catch up.
Next stop is in Big Bear at Boulder Bay for more Pictures and a stretch.
>From there it's on to Arrowhead and the village for a beer or soda and a
look around the village. From there we take the Rim which is at around 7000
plus feet and if it's a clear day the view is spectacular, another good
place to take pictures. This is a modest paced ride and we always wait to
make sure everyone catches up for a head count. If your interested let me
know at ronaldebettsasalc0015 at hotmail.com or just call me at 909-890-6397. I
know I met some of you at FOntana this past weekend and some showed an
interest in this ride so here it is. It's a great time and a chance to get
together with other listers. All bikes are welcome. Hope you make it.

Peace...Ron"Desmohead"Betts 95 900 SP
