[Ducati] Sport Classic Instrument Issues and Dealer kudos (now fogging)

When I found my 1098s gauge fogging I had a long chat with the service
manager. He told me in no uncertain terms to not use any silicone on
any vents. Apparently the silicone vapors trash the instrumentation.
Ciao!

Speaking of Ducati & speedos (the gauge, not the swimwear), the cluster on
my girlfriend's new '06 M620I has fogged up repeatedly. It has already been
replaced once under warranty (@1000 miles) and is still showing the same
problem. It went back in again & they said they silicone'd up the vent
holes. Well, that didn't do it either. I was wondering if anyone else has
had this problem. She lives in the SF Bay area & the shop is a
super-reputable one. I have heard absolutely no bad about these guys. She
has another appointment lined up for after the dealer consults with mother
Ducati on the problem. Just curious if this is a semi-common problem of if
she's just special like that.

That is all...
