Yes, probably my greatest concern is what I cannot see.  I'm debating
whether or not to pull at least one cylinder and have a look at the piston.
I have also considered borrowing a nice boroscope from work to peek inside.
Unfortunately it wasn't my bike ten years ago when it started it's
hibernation; I would have kept it lubed and clean.  See pix on my other post

Too bad you didn't prep that P500 bike better before storing
it.  I've had two bikes in storage since 93 and both get a twice
annual soaking in WD40.  I fogged both engines long ago and re-do it
every couple of years.  No rust, no pitting.  Engines turn easily
(with plugs out) by hand.
