Fred,
Motion Pro sells one that works fine. I got mine from Chris Kelley at
California Cycle Works but if you are in a hurry, you might find someone
who carries Motion Pro locally. Making your own, per the Haynes manual,
does work too. Nice thing about the Motion Pro tool is that it's useful
in other applications too.

greetings earthlings -
I am in need of the toool that holds the clutch center since I am
the in the process of replacing my clutch basket along with a few other
clutch-related parts. I could buy the special tool, but I am thinking
that it would take a long time to get it. I could make one by
sacrificing a few steel plates and welding on a suitable handle to
counteract the torque of the 32mm nut that holds the clutch center to
the input shaft. About 125 ft. lbs. or so. So, are there any
generous souls out there willing to lend me this tool? I am open to
creative financial solutions. Anyone know where one of these special
tools are sitting on the shelf, so I could buy it right now? I will
listen to the experiences of others who have done this themselves. Step
right up, don't be shy, speak of tales past, whether they be good or not
so good. Many thanks for your time.
ciao,
Fred Hecker
