[Ducati] Rejoined the list!

Hi Vicki,
It's nice to hear from you again; it's been a few years and you are
obviously still at it with a passion! I'm feeling a bit obsessed now with
this new old bike; I think about it way too much. Mostly it's thoughts
about what to do next, and how far to take it...I'm thinking that I'll get
the Pantah going, ride her a bit and then make long term plans. I would
really love a nice Hailwood style paint job as it is definitely more Italian
and beautiful than the Ice Blue. Eh! Let's see how it goes. I'm not one
to throw a lot of money at a bike unless it makes it handle much better; my
inherent road caution means it all happens in the corners.
Best
Don

Hi Don,
Welcome back to the fold (and the list). We look forward to reports of
your
progress. These days old bikes are a LOT easier than they used to be - the
world of parts and advice has gotten pretty small with help from lists like
this one and the Pantahheads (just a couple examples of many sources).
Nothing
feels better than taking home something you have coveted for years at a
good
price. You are lucky you had the opportunity to jump back in when you did -
old bike prices have gone stupid. These days when I get offered a vintage
bike I covet I sort of feel like it's getting to the buy it now or never
point
from the $$ perspective.
Regards,
Vicki

Everyone needs an old bike to screw around with! After poring
through all my dusty Ducati books, and looking at internet photos of the
Pantah in different states of pure stock, or customization and tri-colore
paint, the design of it has grown on me (had to, I suppose). I will post
some pics after I shine her up.
Please forgive the long post, but I am happy to be back.
Best
