[Ducati] Just witnessed an accident

Just writing to tell everybody to be careful. On my way home tonight, I
witnessed one ugly motorcycle vs. car accident. Yes, it was the same old
story, a teen-aged girl made a left turn into an on-coming motorcycle
(looked like an older FZR 600). Legally, it was her fault, but it wasn't
quite as negligent on her part as a lot of them. He was VERY difficult to
see. His headlight was VERY dim and he was accelerating WFO. I don't think
he even hit the brakes when he crashed into her front quarter panel.
Obviously, I have no idea how fast he was actually going, but I'd guess at
over 60 mph and still accelerating along a main street that feeds into
residential neighborhoods. He'll probably live (thank God), but we know he
broke one leg just above the ankle, something stabbed into his foot on the
same leg, and compound fractures in two places in the other leg. Paramedics
said that he did not have a pulse in the lower part of same leg, so he may
end up loosing that leg. I have no idea about any neck/back or internal
injuries. All in all, he is lucky he is alive. Unfortunately, we have no
control over the dumb things people do around us, but had he been using a
bit of common sense, this wouldn't have turned out half as bad.

BE CAREFUL,
