[Ducati] Spoiler! Jerez

Sorry gang, but what makes you think you know what's in the mind of a rider?
I think it's presumptuous of anyone to think they know what went wrong when
a rider performs poorly beyond what the rider himself has said. In this
case, Loris said they had engine trouble and he f**ked up. There's nothing
more to say or read into it.
I'm an expert racer in WERA southeast. Sometimes I have good days,
sometimes not. Sometimes I have a particular track dialed in, sometimes
not, sometimes I podium, sometimes I suck, yada yada.
That's all there's to it. No deep dark secrets.
My two cents.

Life in the public eye is a tough game. You have to be prepared to take the
criticism with the praise. Coming back to a race track you TOTALLY dominated
last year (pole position, race victory and the fastest lap) with a 12th
place
finish behind a d'Antin bike, is worth a "what the f***???" on the part of
his fans. Everybody has a bad day but at his level in the game a bad day is
falling down or getting a bad start or having his tires go away, not
slugging
along at the back of the field like a guy that paid for his own ride. It may
not sound like I am a fan of Loris but I really am. It's just the reality
of
big time sports, you need to have your head in the game and for whatever
reason, his didn't seem to be. So yes, I suppose you could have been more
gracious
but you were still right.
(In my opinion)

Thanks for the update vicki.I guess I should be a bit more gracious.
<remove foot from mouth>
He certainly is a good rider and anybody can have a bad day at the track.
But a bad day at the track is better than a good day at work!!
God bless,

The general speculation is he's off his game a bit because his wife is
having their first child any moment but here's what he had to say:
"This morning we thought we had found a better set-up but the race didn't
go
well," sighed Capirex. "At the start something happened with the engine, I
got a bad start and after... well, I didn't ride so well. We worked on
engine
mapping this morning but maybe we didn't get it right because I didn't have
great acceleration and that made things worse. I'm not happy, I had a bad
race.
Yes, I finished, but this is not the way I like to race. During the next
few
weeks we will work on a few things to make sure we start Turkey in better
shape."

I was thinking the same thing!! I see Stoner putting a move on hayden and
move up to 5th; I see rossi out front of pedrosa by a mile; I see 15 names
go
by on the side of the tv, and I says to myself, "self, did you miss the
news
about capirossi's retirment party or something?!" Yeah, end of the race
roll's around and he's floating around the back like he's just making sure
everybody gets off the track before sundown. What the heck?
