Like Vicki said- a great article.  I thought this particularly remarkable regarding the slow speed of Rossi:




"Just how slow was the M1? Well, it would have been the 17th fastest out of the 23 bikes entered in the World Superbike round held at the same Losail track on March 24th. In fact, both Yamaha YZF-R1s, ridden in SBK by Troy Corser and Noriyuki Haga, recorded identical speeds of 190.8 in race trim, compared to the best speed of 188.25 by Rossi on the M1 in the race."
