[Ducati] 1098 impressions

This isn't a very long impression but it may be helpful. This comes from a
friend in Austin who just got a 1098S. He's recently added Arrow 1/2 system
but I don't have any reports about that yet. Another friend told me today
that he was on the tollway, in 6th gear, at 6k rpm, going about 110, and not
even breathing hard. Sounds like my old GSX1300 "Eyeabuser"
Cheers,
Warren
"The bike is waaaay beyond my expectations! Remarkable in every
regard. Did 300+ miles over the weekend and she barely even broke a
sweat. Definitely more capable than I am or will ever be. I have
never grinned so much in my life and for so long. :)
Comments:
Needs tank protector..it is a must and all new owners should be
encouraged to get one asap! Bike geared a bit tall. I used mostly 4th all
the way through 1431.
5th was used sparingly and 6th maybe once or twice on 281. To not lug
the engine on 6th you have to be going pretty illegal speeds.
So much torque everywhere. Wide and flat.
Handling: turns in quicker than 999 and even the Mille.
Seat not as hard as you would think.
Front brakes are crazy! Rear actually works too for a change!"

Has anyone taken possession of a 1098, 1098S, or Tri C and is riding it
around and can give any first-hand impressions?
Thanks
