[Ducati] 1000DS exhaust leak

I have an 03 Monster 1000 that's developed an exhaust leak at the (what sounds like) the head.  Does anyone know if the headpipe assembled with a gasket or any sealant to the head?  (It doesn't look like it, but I've just wrestled it all apart.)

Also, does anyone know the torque specs for the studs that're used?  The studs and nuts are really manky looking after only a few years.  I'll try & find some stainless replacements--it looks like a recipe for disaster given a couple more years at the rate they're going.
