My 91 900SS has had both exhaust guides replaced last year @ 25000km. I got 
a pair from Guy @ MBP which will last much longer.

You might also consider having a sleeve or insert installed if you have a 
competent shop locally. They were developed to service cast iron guides but 
they work in bronze guides as well.

I have one in my 350 single and no problems so far after 1000 miles and 2 
track days.
