Yes, I suspect that might be the case Brian, I don't think the price is so
high that it will daunt many users, so therefore the feed out is liable to
be hampered, being both hi res and lots of them. However I am definitely
hoping that you are right about they may have uprated to a different
network, and made bloody sure it we capable of handling the subscriptions.
If this is the case, a trickle down effect could be that regular subscribers
get better service, now wouldn't that be nice.
Did anybody get the bit about you can have two showings at high res?
>From the sample piece shown, the clarity is still not satellite dish quality
of Nascarvision, but at least you see stuff before, after and all of it
during, plus live. I record the other too and watch them again often times.
It is wonderful how you can set DVRs to record a whole series without
finding them individually.
Much as I would like to watch the first round live, its not gonna happen,
since we arrive in Rome at 9 am, and I don't think the wife will choose to
watch the race instead of tour around a bunch of old buildings.
Meanwhile, don't forget to sign up for the Desmohead subleague, password
Ducati on the MotoGP manager fantasy game. They aren't counting the first
round, but for those who really like racing, it is a great place to talk up
your heroes. This should be a most interesting year, and while Danny P. is
quick, can he do it all season long? If it hadn't been for Sete, Capirossi
might well have been champ, finishing 18 points down at the end after
missing 3 races (yeah, I know, it was actually 23, but does anyone believe
Bayliss would have stayed ahead of Capirossi if the 5 point gap had made a
difference?). Rossi of course comes back with a fire of renewed competition,
and Hayden has an increased confidence, one would think. Too bad for Hopkins
that he crashed early on and starts hurt. Even if only Honda, Ducati, and
Rossi have ever won a race, this is a new start, and looks to be even more
competetive.

My guess (and it's purely that) would be the buffering issue is a
result of servers/network being "put to task" on race day and less to
do with resolution. The possible benefit to upgrading to hi-res may
be that it's served off a different server/network and that there are
significantly fewer users of the hi-res feed, potentially lessening
the strain on the server/network's need to take its time buffering.
Again, speculation on my part.
