It does sound like an interesting and simple mod. Post somewhere where we
can all check them out.

Thanks,
W

A modification to make airbox easy to remove is easy on the SP. There's a
part of the molded airbox where the battery tray and the airbox join
together. If you turn the airbox over, you'll see a "split" between the two

and they're only connected by a small strip of plastic. Simply cut the
strip and you'll have a battery tray and an airbox. The battery tray will
attach to the frame with two bolts, as will the airbox. When you remove the

airbox you can leave all of the electrical stuff in place by removing two
screws that attach the bar that holds the coils and ignition modules to the
airbox, then wheedle out the airbox part (you'll still have to remove the
airbox top, I think). This saves a bit of time, anyway, and makes the
unweildy thing a bit more manageable.

That's what I've done, anyway, and it's been in service for about 5 years.
I've got pictures on my desktop, and if you're interested I can email them
anytime.

BTW, Izzak, I haven't forgoten you...I just keep forgetting to bring those
dog gone frame decals to work to scan them. Class has got me pulling my
hair out, but I'll get them soon. Sorry for the extended delay.
