[Ducati] Oil cooler on SBK

Has anyone run their SBK ( 916,996,998) without the oil cooler? That  
damned thing almost got me killed twice on my old 916, once it  
developed a leak in the fitting, the second time it got a pin hole in  
the rad from a rock. The latter was discovered after making a  
spirited run through the Foothills Parkway, when we stopped on the  
other side the oil was all over the place. My 748's don't have those  
and when I put a 996 motor in, unless someone says it'll blow, I am  
going to run sans oil cooler.
