I think Mike has hit on something. I was wondering the same, as it seemed like something was forcing the oil out of the places it was leaking from. During the second repair, the mechanic noticed the crankcase breather was loose and leaking oil. This is the stock breather, and has always leaked but has not come loose. This all suggests another problem that might be looming on the horizon. I wonder what shape my rings are in. Couldn't blow-by cause pressure leaks like the ones I'm having.
The bike has left another significant puddle overnight. I will look at the bike more closely to look for clues, especially around the crankcase breather, but am planning on turning around. I would take another route home, which would be less distance than the route to my next stop, so it would still be a round trip. I can see some new country, and be closer to home if there is a breakdown. I might stop back at the shop in Bozeman to ask what they think.
Even though I'm scrubbing the mission, it has still been quite a trip: almost 4,000 miles, many towns, a few dicatisti, a bunch of great roads and vistas, and a tasty latte here and there.
Don't know when I'll have internet access again, so you might not hear from me until we're home.
Signing out,
