Peter asked...

A friend of mine has a set of Marzocchi yokes/trees that come off a bevel I
would say. They are unusual in that the offset is 65mm.

Normally you get up to 45mm offset. What came out with these and where
would
I find one to suit my special. The trail is reading high and I would like to
reduce it by having a greater offset in my yokes. What year or models come
out with these specs in the fork clamps?

Peter..that much offset doesn't sound like any bevel twin...but it may be
due to how one has measured offset..???... typically the bevel twins had
either 25 or 45 mm offsets this being measured from center of the headstem
to the centerline of the forktubes... if measured center of the stem tube
to the front edge of the fork tubes one would come up with the dimensions
you note.....but in general all the earliest bikes had the 25mm offset
...measured centerline to centerline..... the 750 GT's then switched in
1974 to the 45mm ( measured C to C) when they went from lead axle to
center-axle forks although Sport and Supersport remained at 25mm offset
through the life of the line. The rest of your measurements add up to
typical bevel in spread and diameter...

Hope that helps
