Edmonton is about 375 KM SE of High Prairie. I have lived in Alberta since
1979 and I have never been there.

Hi George,anywhere near High Prairie?Cheers Dave(UK).

Alberta, Canada that informs the driver that
slower vehicles should keep right except to pass. I have always considered
the left lane to be the passing lane and I am always conscious of any other
vehicles coming up behind me when I find myself in the left lane for a
prolonged period of time. Our HWY speed is 110 kmh (68 mph) and I usually
do about 125 (78) as a fairly comfortable non ticket speed and I find myself
passing about 90% of the vehicles on the road. For the other 10% of traffic
I do my best to move to the right when they are approaching. I would think
that the HWYS would run smoother if the signage simply read the left lane is
for passing.

Hi, Firstly I'm not defending their actions but my take is that you stay
right except to pass. We have a similar problem here, the highways have
signage that state slower vehicles keep right, of course some feel since
they are doing the limit they are entitled to the left lane. In the
interests of your safety and courtesy, stay inthe right lane unless it is
congested and watch your mirrirs.
