[Ducati] Carb Problem Identified and Parts Needed

Can anyone see a problem with using a little Marine Tex inside a carb cover?

I've never used JB Weld but I know Marine Tex will stop fuel.  I used it on
Triumph cases and a cracked float bowl (don't ask).
