Well, you will most likely find the performance/behavior of the motor on the ST3 to actually be better doing speeds up to 100, the ST4 motor sorta takes over then and will eventually leave the ST3. Although I will admit I do not have a lot of seat time on an ST4. Handling wise I have never ridden an ST2 but the ST3 and ST4 handle very well, obviously an "S" version will have an advantage over a standard version. My stock ST3 did not really start performing until around 5K RPM but once I put the Termis with new ECU and filter it comes on now at about 4K. My ST3 does fine solo and 2up and my seat of the pants is that it handles as well as my M900 until the roads gets into the really tight twisties but on the other hand I like the ST3 better on the fast sweepers. If you buy a standard ST3, you can upgrade with race tech and get close to the "S". Just my input, worth what you paid for it - Gene
