[Ducati] Question - GP shift pattern for 97 916

I would like to reverse the shift pattern on my 916 to match my TZ250.  Took 
a look at the linkage arrangement over the weekend and couldn't see how to do 
it with the stock lever and linkage. 
 
Am I missing something, or are special parts required?
