If the bike sat unused for a long time, which it must have judging by the 
mileage, you may have plates stuck together that will not separate until you 
take the clutch pack apart and clean the individual plates and reinstall. I 
my limited association with all things Ducati, I wouldn't expect clutch wear 
to rear its' ugly head until somewhere after 10,000 mi. By this time the 
basket is taking a pretty good beating too.
