I went from an 89 FLSTC to a ST3. I love it.
Its just a different world than the HD stuff. I felt like I had to learn to
ride all over. You go from sittin on the scoot to DRIVING. In terms of
power - ain't no comparison, ya gotta hang on. Handling is also much
quicker and responsive. The biggest transition for me was learning to keep
the rpms up, it doesn't like to be below 3K whcih is about where the Harleys
cruise.
The front suspension is softer than my Heritage, but not an issue for me -
except it sorta dives when you clamp on the front brakes. You WILL notice a
difference with the brakes, these stop you really quick. I do think I will
get a pair of handle bar extenders, to make me a bit more upright. I
personally have no need for more speed, so I can not adivse you there. But
the Duc catalog if full of go fast stuff and a lot of carbon stuff too.
