[Ducati] monster mileage & warm-up

Don't worry about the delay in warming up. My G/F bought a 620 last year
and for the first 1.5k, it too took about 5-10 minutes to reach operational
temp. That changes once you get the bike fully broken in (2-3k on the
clock). On a side note; the people at Hattar are fantastic. That's where
she got her bike as well (thanks Valerie!) and to say that they are
enthusiastic about their product would be an understatement. This is what
all dealers should look & feel like.
That is all.

Subject: [Ducati] monster mileage & warm-up
Hello,
I've recently purchased an '05 Monster 620 that was used at a press day (it
had 800 miles on the engine), but sold to me as new from Hattar Motor
Sports. The engine is taking a LONG time (6-9 minutes) to warm up and get
out of the "low" temp range. I imagine I'm using some gas during that warm
up period, but even so, on open roads, I'm getting only about 35mpg.
Curious, given this info - is this warm-up time/mileage per gallon common?
Also, I'm new to the forum - not sure if you post all inquiries & how to
figure out when/if I'm getting responses?
Thanks!
