[Ducati] 900 SS Clutch Question

Hi Group,

I have a stock 1997 900 SS/CR that I enjoy very much.  I am considering replacing the friction discs and springs as the clutch starts to fade after long rides.  

I see lots of cool looking clutch products from folks like Cycle Cat.  Besides the aesthetic considerations, are there performance advantages to replacing the whole thing (basket, etc.) vs. new discs and springs for a pleasure rider?
