Paul, I don't know where you are located, but it sounds as though your
dealer is not going to the mat with you and Ducati. I know of similar
problems (not yours specifically on the ST4S) where they stood behind it.
Where are you, and what dealer did you buy it from?

Subject: [Ducati] ST4S wiring harness
I recently purchased a 2004 ST4S with 1850 miles on it, I've put another
1500 since buying it. It's has developed a problem with the wiring harness
which in turn toasted the ignition module.
Looks like a $4,000.00 repair....not impressed and Ducati has bailed
completely on any kind of compensation...no breaks....pretty harsh given the
mileage and mint condition. Has anyone heard or experienced this problem or
is this what I'm going to have to get used to owning a Ducati?
Thought I'd buy my dream machine, had no idea this kind of repair would be
coming this early in the game. I'd really appreciate hearing from some long
time Ducati owners to give me the straight goods a to whether this is normal
Ducati stuff.
