To Dave and any other Ducatisti and MotoGP Attendee who might have missed
previous MotoGP/Hill House notes -

Below you will find copies of my posts containing a little history and an
update. If you are planning to be at the Hill House and have not already
sent me a note, please do so.

Beloved Brethren -
The time has come to begin planning in earnest for what will surely be a
grand and glorious weekend for all Ducati owners at the 2007 edition of the
US MotoGP. As most of you know, Peter Bonner and I will be hosting a dinner
for all Ducati owners at the Hill House (located within the Los Laureles
Lodge grounds - http://www.loslaureles.com/) on Friday night. For those of
you not familiar with the event, a little background.

A few years ago, Peter and I (along with a number of fellow Bevelheads)
became very frustrated while trying to find a venue that would provide a
place for dinner, drinks and conversation on the Friday of race weekend.
Imagine 100 of your best friends and list members hunting around the
Monterey Peninsula for a restaurant that will serve all of you with food,
drink and a comfortable space for bench racing. It just can't be found.

Peter and I were staying at the Lodge and became aware that the Hill House
was available for the following year. We reserved it. Besides offering
bargain accommodations, we provide home cooked food (personally prepared by
Peter, myself and, if he shows up again, Paul Nielsen), home brewed beer
from Peter's son Aaron and a place to see some of the best examples of
Ducati history outside of the Ducati Island Museum. Last year the Big List's
Alec Moss (Brew master of Half Moon Bay Brewery) supplied a healthy portion
of the Brew Pub's tasty nectar. The Brew Pub is a "must see" if you are in
the area.

This year we will be duplicating and improving on last year's event. To that
end, we would like to get an idea of how many folks are planning to attend
this year. As you can imagine, food prep can be a challenge and we do a lot
of things ahead of time. We do not want to come up short so here's the
deal -

If you are planning to attend the Friday dinner, please send me a personal
e-mail (george at scottishwoods.com) and include the names of those in your
party. The cost of this years event will be $15 per person. Compare that to
your last dinner check in Monterey on Friday night on a race weekend. Those
of you staying in a bed at the Hill House have the meal included with your
reservation. This will include food, drink and a place to BS. All in a
location that is private with a beautiful view of the Carmel Valley. We are
less than 15 minutes from the main track entrance over Los Laureles Grade.
Motorcycles can proceed up the hill to the large parking/exhibit area.
Please park all cages at the bottom of the hill in the Lodge's parking lot.
We will begin the event around 6:00 PM (more or less). Prepare to have fun
and stay late. Bring your camera. You never know who or what will show up.

Peter and I are looking forward to seeing all ya'll again and meeting
newcomers.

I just want to send out a reminder to all who are coming to Lagooner - don't
forget Da Hill House Friday night dinner. Please begin arriving around 6:00
PM. Bikes can come to the top of the hill, cages please park in the lodge
parking lot.

The partial menu will include our own home-made chili (Peoples Choice second
place finisher at the Murphy Chili Cook-off) and my own spaghetti. There
will also be 50 lbs of wings prepared by none other than John Featherston
with his own "Featherblend" seasoning. John is infamous in the Spartanburg,
SC area for hosting some of the biggest and best parties ever. His annual
Ground Hog Grunt is one you will never forget. See
http://www.running-time.com/musiccamp/index.htm to get an idea.

I don't know what Peter is preparing but whatever it is, ya'll know it'll be
good. Wash all of this down with Aaron Bonner's best home brew and you will
certainly be satisfied.

Remember the price at the door is $15. Please drop me an e-mail to let me
know how many are going to attend.
